About Euro Millions
EURO MILLIONS is a transnational lottery boasting the largest lump-sum jackpots in Europe. Launched in February 2004, it combines lottery ticket revenue from nine participating countries - the UK, France, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland - to create a massive prize fund twice each week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Lottery jackpots begin at €15,000,000 and can reach as high as €190,000,000 -- but even second division prizes can make you a Euro multi-millionaire!
Ways to Win
There are 13 ways to win a Euro Millions prize, and the 13 prize divisions are pari-mutuel. This means that the prize amounts are not fixed. Prize amounts vary depending on ticket sales, the jackpot amount and the number of winners in that division.
The Prize Divisions are as follows.
|Division||Main Numbers||Lucky Stars||Percentage of Payout|
|Reserved Funds||8.60 %|
To win the Jackpot in Euro Millions, you must match the 5 main numbers drawn (ranging from 1 to 50) as well as two additional balls called Lucky Stars. Number picks for Lucky Stars range from 1 to 11. You can increase your chances of winning the Euro Millions by knowing how to win the lottery mathematically. According to a recent study, lottery can be predicted to an extent through probability analysis.
All prizes, including the jackpot, are tax-free (except in Switzerland, Spain and Portugal since 2013) and are paid as a lump sum.
Top Jackpots and Superdraws
Euro Millions' top jackpots to date have been €190,000,000 in August 2012 and €185,000,000 in July 2011. Jackpots over €100 million are not uncommon, however.
Euro Millions typically holds at least two Superdraws per year. Super Draws and Event draws are special draws when the Jackpot is set to a guaranteed amount (often €100 million or €130 million at times), regardless of the Jackpot of the previous draw.
